This is Soapy Smith's Derringer now perfectly preserved in Skagway's museum.

While Frank Reid is Skagway, Alaska's hero, Soapy Smith is Skagway's Villain.

Soapy Smith, the Wild West's baddest gangster, was shot and killed here in Skagway on July 8th of, 1898, by Frank Reid in a gun battle.  Soapy had it coming.  Rest in Blood, Soapy, you Fiend in Hell.

Jefferson Randolph "Soapy" Smith is buried in Skagway, Alaska's Gold Rush Cemetery, in Alaska's raw land, where gold is still God.

Soapy's Derringer is on permanent display in Skagway's Museum.
