The  Kootéeyaa Deiyí  or Totem Pole Trail in Juneau, Alaska is "a significant cultural project in Juneau, Alaska, featuring a collection of new totem poles along the waterfront, created by Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian artists to celebrate and reclaim Indigenous heritage, storytelling, and presence, with plans for 30 poles total to welcome visitors to the homeland of Alaska Natives."

This piece is a modest tribute to the real thing, which must be seen and experienced to be fully understood.  I included this piece not to misappropriate Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian artwork, but because I felt that not including at least one piece of First Nations' artwork would be exclusionary. As a longtime Alaskan guide, one of my primary goals is to incorporate First Nations' perspectives respectfully rather than diminish or ignore them.
