The Chilkoot Trail, or Grease Trail, was the primary trading route for Euchalon oil among the First Nations Tlingit people before the 1898 Gold Rush. During the Gold Rush, the Chilkoot Trail was used by greedy white men who thirsted for Klondike gold more than they thirsted for their wives back home.
The Chilkoot Trail led to Bennett Lake, which provided direct access to the famed Yukon River. The Yukon River delivered the greedy to their goal: Dawson and the Klondike Gold Fields. The Chilkoot Trail is the beginning, middle, and end of Alaska, of the Yukon, of the Inside Passage, of the Fjordlands of Alaska, and of countless Tlingit legends. This trail is the Yukon and Alaska. This is it. This is what you came for. Whether or not you ever get to stand next to this sign at Bennet Lake, this trail is the conduit that connects Skagway to the Yukon and Dawson Gold. It connects Western and Northern First Nations cultures. Most importantly, the Chilkoot Trail connects us to the land. Don't sleep on this design. You'll get 10 if you know what's up.
The AlCAn Highway stands as a monument to the indomitable will and combined strength of Canada and the U.S. during WWII. Now it stands before you as the great road trip you've been thinking about taking your entire life. Alaska is waiting to see if you can survive, but first, you will be tested and dazzled by the rugged land that awaits you on your adventure to the True North. I can't wait to meet you.
This isn't just adhesive and ink. You're buying a memory. You're purchasing a moment, a piece of your Alaskan adventure, and you're buying from a man who cares. So, if you're looking to support a local Alaskan Artist, you have found one. Erin Gray is an Alaskan artist from Idaho, and his designs are handmade and authentic. Just like you, he's working to fulfill his dreams and buy a home so his daughter and grandchildren can always have a place to land, no matter how bad things get.
Never corporate. Never owned by the cruise ships. Royal Alpine designs represent the hard work of a self-made man who has refused to back down, no matter how many adversities have come and gone. A man who's making his way in Alaska one day at a time. A man who has lived his greatest adventures in Alaska and the Yukon and now lives to share yours. Let's live our adventures together.
